ISSUES

Democracy

It’s time to end the corruption that has defined Washington for far too long.

While you're deciding what to put back on the shelf at the grocery store, Congress is getting rich and taking orders from the corporations that jacked up your prices. I support banning Congressional stock trading, overturning Citizens United, and imposing term limits. I refuse corporate PAC money, and I believe Congress must bar foreign money from our elections, force disclosure of dark money, and pass strong ethics reforms. That must also include binding requirements and term limits for the Supreme Court so justices no longer take bribes from billionaires and greedy corporations.

Voters decide their candidates, not party bosses or political insiders. I believe Congress must pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Act, end the Electoral College, and ban gerrymandering nationwide. Until then, when a state cheats the system and redistricts mid-cycle, others should follow suit. Our democracy belongs to us, not the crooks trying to choose their voters or buy politicians.

We need to ban the use of artificial intelligence in political ads. This election cycle we’ve already seen deepfakes play out in our race — fake videos of candidates doing things they never did and saying things they never said. If you're running for office, your ads should come from you, not a version designed to manipulate voters.
