Freedom
New York's 21st District is where the very idea of freedom took hold, from the first American victory at Fort Ticonderoga to the turning point of the Revolution on the battlefields of Saratoga. That independence is what makes us who we are. It means we decide our own future, and no politician or wealthy few get to take our freedoms away.
Today, that promise only holds if Congress defends the constitutional freedoms that belong to all of us. Freedom isn’t abstract; it’s the right to speak our minds, worship as we choose, and make personal decisions free from fear. It’s the freedom to marry who we love, to live without discrimination, and to control our own healthcare with dignity and privacy.
That’s why I support the Equality Act and codifying Roe v. Wade into federal law. LGBTQ+ Americans deserve to live their full lives, and no politician should control your family or your body. I’ll protect access to abortion, birth control, IVF, and reproductive healthcare — and I'll protect the doctors who provide access to these services, too. Because in a free country, nobody gets to decide your path but you.
The promise born at Ticonderoga and Saratoga wasn’t just about breaking from a king. It was about building a nation where people can build their own lives. I’ll fight for your freedom to thrive every day.
